Why is following Allah’s commands looked down upon?
Why is following Allah's commands looked down upon? Why is
the lady who covers ups from head to toe seen as too much but the one who keeps
up to the latest fashions looked up to? Why is the woman who segregates herself
from men seen as odd but the woman who talks openly seen as sociable? Why is
eating in a place that serves alcohol acceptable, (when our religion completely
forbids it) but refusing to be seen as being awkward? Why is the word
“religious” seen as an insult? What is so wrong with trying to get closer to
Allah? Do we love Allah? If the answer is yes shouldn’t we be trying to
follow his every command?
This a short post I wrote about being a lover of Allah.
We call ourselves lovers of our Creator
We call ourselves lovers of the One who made us
But are we lovers in actions too?
Do we stay away from that which displeases Him?
Do we remember Him before we sin?
Do we take enough time out to stand and pray?
Do we think of Him with every word we say?
Is our heart filled with the love of this world?
Do we follow the way of the most Beloved (SAW)?
We call ourselves lovers of our Creator
We call ourselves lovers of the One who made us
But are we lovers in actions too?
